Baby, I'm Howling For You by Christine Warren

Baby, I'm Howling For You is a new shifter series by Christine Warren and it ticks all the boxes for me. Sexy alpha wolf shifters, feisty heroines and fates mates.

After reading Something To Howl About, I knew I was going to enjoy the tone and feel of this new series by Ms Warren. It's different from her Gargoyles series which I have also enjoyed but I love the passion, sense of danger and light humour in this one. I love the part of the story focusing on Renny and Mick as fated mates - the stubborn wolf resisting at first, until he can't. :-)

I liked Renny right from the start. There's something about a damsel in distress in romances that tugs at my heart. But Renny is no pushover and when she's not running in fear and adrenalin overload from an insane stalker, she's direct, independent and caring. I liked that she was honest and upfront about what was going on and didn't try to hide anything from those around her. I also admired her from wanting to build a life of her own and not cowering in fear. And Renny was sensible about her situation and understood her own weaknesses and inability to protect herself, resulting in her needing the help and support of the people in town.

Mick has had a traumatic past and he's in Alpha to hide from the world. Things change overnight when his mate comes barreling into his life, desperate and injured. It certainly brings out the protective instincts in him. I loved how alpha Mick is. He's all growly and overprotective. So damn sexy. Despite being blinded by his protective instincts at times, he's also a smart man and one who is willing to communicate with his mate and listen.

I loved that Renny and Mick communicated. Being thrown together as mates suddenly is a big deal and a lot of change to absorb in a short period of time. Aside from a few hiccups, Mick and Renny dealt with their situation as mature adults. I loved that. They talked and worked things out, even when Mick was being stubborn and Renny was chaffing at her lack of freedom.

While this is an entertaining story, it also illustrates how awful it is to have a crazy stalker after you. I would never take lightly someone in this situation. It can destroy a person's life.

I loved this start to the Alphaville series and am looking forward to future books.

    1. Fated mates is one of my favorite romance tropes so I tend to enjoy them.
