2016 Recap: Helen's top 10 reads

Welcome to another instalment of our Top Reads for 2016. Here's Helen with her top 10 ... ahem 12 actually ... :-) she couldn't choose between the last three. :-) I know the feeling. So many good books!

When asked a question such as this “what were your favourite 10 reads of 2016?” It is like asking me who my favourite child is. :-)

2016 was a great year for reading for me. There were so many wonderful stories that kept me smiling, feeling emotions and traveling the world from my armchair. So I will try to do my best.

From A Paris Balcony by Ella Carey

From a Paris Balcony by Ella Carey
A Fabulous time slip that took us back to the 1890’s and the lives of two people related Sarah from the present and Louisa from the past. This is the third book in this series and it was a wonderful story, in a beautiful setting with a mystery to unravel.

Bound To The Bounty Hunter by Hayson Manning

Bound to the Bounty Hunter by Hayson Manning
This is a wonderful, fast paced steamy story that has everything a reader of romance wants to keep them engaged and turning the pages. It has a fabulous story, characters that come to life on the pages and as a bonus it is the first in a series. :-)

The Grazier's Wife by Barbara Hannay

The Grazier’s Wife by Barbara Hannay
Ms Hannay writes stories that are moving and emotional. This is another time slip that kept me intrigued and thoroughly enjoying the lives over three generations of Australian woman from pre-war Singapore to outback Queensland and a secret that has been kept by the Drummond family.

The Wife's Tale by Christine Wells

The Wife’s Tale by Christine Wells
This was a book I was really looking forward to and was not disappointed in it is beautifully written. It tells the tale of a woman named Delaney and her life back on The Isle of Wight in the 1780’s and when lawyer Liz from Brisbane is sent to investigate the estate of Seagrove and the intrigue she discovers will keep you turning the pages.

Stranded With The Scottish Earl by Anna Campbell

Stranded With the Scottish Earl by Anna Campbell
Ms Campbell has a way with words that will open up the Regency period for any reader, make them feel they have gone back in time. And with the Scottish Earl what more could you want to keep you highly entertained for a few hours as heroine Charlotte found out. One not to be missed.

Kidnapped by the Billionaire by Jackie Ashenden

Kidnapped by the Billionaire by Jackie Ashenden
If you want a story that is powerfully emotional, that will have you heating up and thoroughly enjoying it then this is one for you. Truly I was exhausted (in such a good way) after reading this story I loved it.

Sunset Shadows by Brownyn Parry

Sunset Shadows by Bronwyn Parry
Ms Parry writes edge of your seat suspense set in the Australian bush with realistic people and situations and emotions that in the end will leave you feeling happy. Ms Parry’s stories are a must read for me and I can highly recommend them. They are filled with characters that will become friends and their stories will stay with you for a long time to come.

The Summer Bride by Anne Gracie

The Summer Bride by Anne Gracie
Ms Gracie’s stories are magical. They are a journey into the past and the lives of people that will become friends and this one was the fourth and final instalment of the Chance Sisters series. It finished the series in an awesome way. The four Chance Sisters came to life on the pages and Daisy’s story was fabulous.

Shadows of Hunters Ridge by Sarah Barrie

Shadows of Hunters Ridge by Sarah Barrie

This is book two in the Hunters Ridge series and wow! What a story! There is so much happening. So many dangers! It is such an impelling story that kept me up late. I honestly could not put this one down. The hero and heroine so deserved each other and the HEA was just amazing. Get ready for a massive all night sitting with this edge of your seat romantic suspense. This ticks all of the boxes.

And because I couldn't just pick one, these three are tied in my top reads for 2016:

The Desert King's Secret Heir by Annie West

The Desert King’s Secret Heir by Annie West
I have a real thing for sheikhs and Ms West knows how to bring the best to life. Oh, I loved this one.

Greek Tycoon's Mistletoe Proposal by Kandy Shepherd

The Greek Tycoon’s Mistletoe Proposal by Kandy Shepherd
This is set in London at Christmas time and will take you on a magical journey to a beautiful HEA. What’s not to love?

An Unlikely Bride for the Billionaire by Michelle Douglas

Unlikely Bride for the Billionaire by Michelle Douglas
Ms Douglas has a heroine with a past in this one and pulled this story off fabulously. It is a must read with a wonderful setting and a hero and heroine who deserve to love and be happy.

There could have been many more books on this list and yes I know I have made three books for the 10th just couldn’t choose.

So those are Helen's favorite reads of 2016. What were yours?
