Review: Pia Does Hollywood (Elder Races #8.6) by Thea Harrison

I'm in the process of trying to catch up on posting some reviews. Being away on vacation and not reading as much, writing blog posts 2 months in advance has put me right behind. I have a heap of reviews I haven't posted. As you can see, this is not a current book but very much a beloved series by Thea Harrison. I'm actually quite caught up on the reading of the books but need to post my reviews. Very slack, Deanna!! Other reviews for this series are here and here.

Pia Does Hollywood by Thea Harrison

I always start reviews of any Elder Races book by gushing over how much I love the series, and if the book features Dragos, how much I ADORE him.

I'm thrilled Thea Harrison has continued to write stories around Dragos and Pia, and now Liam too, because I cannot get enough of them.

This is another fun story featuring Dragos and Pia. It ticks all the usual boxes for a story which has the two of them in it.

This one though did seem to have a bit of a sense of doom, especially with something happening to Dragos which looked like there was no fix for. It certainly amped up my sense of trepidation as I read it, but Dragos being Dragos, well, Dragos conquers all. It's just Dragos, how could it possibly not happen.

I loved the Dragos' use of his beguilement skills, reminiscent of when he visited (uninvited!) the Elves and his little chat with an inner friend. We are reminded how immense, how old and how powerful Dragos is, and I, of course, being a complete Dragos fangirl loved every word of it.

As thing happen around Dragos and Pia, you also get a glimpse into the intimacy they share as a couple (and no, I'm not talking about the sexy times). It's intimate and touching. It's the beauty of their relationship. It's so deep and abiding, and I love reading about it.

We also got to meet a new surprise little character and I'm so excited to see how he develops.

All in all, another excellent addition to the series.
