Coming Soon: Hot Dudes Reading by Hot Dudes Reading

Today I'm taking a little departure from the usual romance fare I normally dish up to bring you something which combines my two great loves - eye candy and reading.

I give you: HOT DUDES READING.

Seriously, is there anything sexier than seeing a guy reading a book?

And what's even more laudable than a guy reading a book? Someone compiling fabulous pictures of hot guys reading books.

Really ... a WHOLE book filled with pictures of hot guys reading books.

Be still my beating heart!

Synopsis:

Humans of New York meets Porn for Women in this collection of candid photos, clever captions, and hilarious hashtags about one of the most important subjects of our time: hot dudes reading.

Based on the viral Instagram account of the same name, Hot Dudes Reading takes its readers on a ride through all five boroughs of New York City, with each section covering a different subway line. Using their expert photography skills (covert iPhone shots) and journalistic ethics (#NoKindles), the authors capture the most beautiful bibliophiles in all of New York—and take a few detours to interview some of the most popular hot dudes from the early days of the Instagram account.

Fun, irreverent, and wittily-observed, this book is tailor-made for book lovers in search of their own happy endings—and those who just want to get lost between the covers for a while.

Oh yeah, and not to mention, there's a giveaway currently going on for a few copies of Advanced Readers Copies of the book. Go enter:

About the authors

auThe creators of @hotdudesreading are a group of close-knit friends/marginally-functional young professionals in New York City who never dreamed an inside joke about their borderline-inappropriate fantasies about studly bookworms would become an Instagram phenomenon. The account has racked up millions of views and has been covered by the New York Times, Daily Mail, Buzzfeed,Vogue, and many other fine publications. After almost blowing their entire advance on rosé, they’ve somehow managed to remain friends (and out of rehab) and can be seen snapping pics and chasing di—, er, dudes all over the city. #HDRTheBook

  1. The legality of this one has me curious. If it's just random pics they've snapped can they really include them in a published book? I wonder if there are waivers or if things are all staged pics in this one. Hrms!

    1. Good question. I don't know since as far as I understand the photos are surreptitiously taken by people and then submitted to Hot Dudes Reading for their Instagram account. Perhaps the photo taker surrenders rights of the image, but that still doesn't answer the question of the subject of the photo taken since that person probably didn't give permission to have his photo taken.

    2. That's how I took the idea of it--that most don't know they're being snapped. I could understand the photo taker signing over rights but the actual subject I would think would be really dicey water. I'd be ticked as all heck if I wound up in a book without anyone contacting me. Could lead to some huge issues as well with people in witness protection, etc (not that that's the case with these but I mean the unapproved photos, never know who you're snapping a pic of).

    3. Good point about the witness protection. Personally, I'd be tickled pink but I can see where even not in witness protection where some people might get really upset and feel their privacy has been violated. That could get interesting for the authors and publishers.
